Get Involved in Health & Social Care Planning

If you use Health or Social Care services in Nottinghamshire, particularly in Newark & Sherwood, or if you are a carer of someone who does, you can have your say in the way services are planned and delivered. You might also be interested if your community or voluntary group has a focus on health and social care.

By getting involved you can help the serviced planners make sure they are meeting the needs of the public.

The NHS, County and District Councils are required to consult with the people who use their services so that improvements can be made to meet people’s needs. This consultation is often referred to as service user and carer involvement. The NHS consultation process is called Patient and Public Involvement in Health.

The District Partnership Officer (DPO) at Newark & Sherwood CVS helps voluntary groups, people who use health and social care services and their carers, to become involved in these consultation processes.

The DPO will feed people’s views back to NHS Nottinghamshire County and local authorities who must take them into account when making decisions.
