Nottinghamshire County Partnership Board

Each local council has set up a Learning Disability Partnership Board.

They aim to bring together people from social services and health services, people with learning disabilities, family carers, people from housing, education, employment, voluntary and other organisations, in order to:

  • Implement the 'Valuing People' White Paper. Valuing People is the government's plan for improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families
  • Plan better services for people with learning disabilities
  • Help people with learning disabilities to get better access to the chances and services that everyone else uses
  • Members of the Carers' Forum and the voluntary sector network sit on the City and County Learning Disability Partnership Boards. They represent these forums at the board meetings.
