Health and Social Care Planning for Older People

People are living longer. By 2020, half the population of the UK will be aged 50 or over and this will bring fundamental changes to the nature of society.

This is a long-term challenge that will need the support of everyone.

Newark & Sherwood has one of the highest number of over 65’s in Nottinghamshire and statutory and voluntary organisations are working with local older people to ensure services are planned and delivered to meet people’s needs.

A direct way for people over 50 to get involved and help shape the way local services are planned and developed is to join a local over 50’s forum.

The Newark & Sherwood Over 50’s Forum is one of ten in Nottinghamshire that contribute towards improving services and the quality of life for local older people.

If you would like any more information or would like to join Newark & Sherwood Over 50’s Forum please contact Val Gardiner.
