Statement from the Chief Executive Officer of Newark and Sherwood CVS

As communities around the world struggle to deal with Coronavirus (COVID-19) Newark and Sherwood CVS want to let you know what we are doing to keep people safe and healthy.

Our number one priority is the safety of our community: clients, volunteers, colleagues, employees and their families. We are closely monitoring the situation to make sure that all the necessary precautions are being taken and we are following the NHS and Government guidelines.

It is ‘business as usual’, but it may be necessary to reduce capacity or temporarily suspend some of our services in the coming weeks. We will keep you informed should that happen.

As of today, we have temporarily suspended our Door2Door transport service and will take no further bookings or new clients.

Additionally, we are temporarily suspending all face to face appointments for our Volunteer Centre; Dementia Information Centre and drop-ins at Castle House.

Our staff will be working from home and will continue to offer supportive telephone and email as usual.

We are supporting our local groups and organisations to facilitate local community support and in their recruitment of volunteers.

We will continue to post updates on the News section of our website  and signpost to any relevant telephone and online support services that may be available.

We would like to thank you for your understanding during these uncertain times.

    Madeleine O’Sullivan
    Chief Executive Officer
