    Our online directory contains information and contact details of a wide variety of groups, clubs and organisations, working across the Newark & Sherwood area. It includes everything from self-help and support groups, to hobby clubs and activities; with just about everything else in between!

    Useful links for voluntary organisations


    Championing the voluntary sector, NCVO is a membership organisation for community and voluntary sector organisations. They offer funding advice, online training opportunities, bespoke consultancy services and legal advice. Some areas are only available to NCVO members.



    NCVO’s advice and support website and the ‘go to’ place for social learning in the voluntary sector. You’ll find anything from expert advice or top tips to bitesize how-to guides and online training courses on any area of voluntary sector management. Some areas are only available to NCVO members.



    ACAS provides free guidance for employers, employees and representatives. They cover a wide range of employment matters on everything from taking holidays and understanding parental rights to tackling discrimination and handling redundancy situations. This page contains links to some of their most popular guidance publications.



    Health & Safety Executive provides guidance, advice and information about work place health and safety issues. There are templates and toolkits for a wide variety of health and safety situations, including online tools for carrying out risk assessments in an office or charity shop.


    The Charity Commission

    The Charity Commission is an independent, non-ministerial government department accountable to Parliament, that is responsible for the regulation of charities in England and Wales and for maintaining the charity register.  They have a wide range of information and resources ranging from setting up a charity to support and guidance for trustees.



    Bassetlaw CVS

    Work with small charitable and community groups to encourage collaboration and working in partnership to secure funding instead of working in silo to benefit the local community. Search for local, and national, funding and grant opportunities using the webtool.


    Nottinghamshire County Council Community & Voluntary Sector team

    Works with the voluntary and community sector to deliver a diverse range of projects and services to Nottinghamshire communities. You’ll also find links to the Supporting Local Communities Fund and Councillors’ Divisional Grants.
