Cornwater Evergreens club provide companionship and a lively environment where older people can spend an enjoyable day, so ending feelings of loneliness and isolation. The Friendship Club runs three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00- 2:30 pm. It offers a varied and entertaining activities programme including art, flower arranging, dancing, bowling and crafts. A freshly prepared two course meal is served at every session. Cost £13.50 includes all activities, refreshments and lunch. The Memory Club runs on a Tuesday and a Thursday and caters for members who are more frail and may be confused or in the early stages of dementia. The structure of the day is similar to the Friendship Club; members can enjoy a programme of lively activities which stimulate memories and help members orientate themselves to what is happening around them. The emphasis at the Memory Club is on person centred care and members are offered closer support by a team of professionals and volunteers. The club provides respite for carers. Cost £20 includes all activities, refreshments and lunch. Transport is available to both clubs from Ravenshead, Blidworth and Rainworth. Members also use the voluntary car schemes including those run in Ashfield and Newark and Sherwood. Members are welcome from throughout Nottinghamshire.
