My Sight Newark

My Sight Nottinghamshire provides emotional support, practical advice and adapted leisure opportunities for blind and vision impaired people of all ages living in Nottinghamshire. In 2016 we received funding from the Big Lottery to develop outreach hubs in Newark, Mansfield and Bassetlaw. As a result, My Sight Newark was launched in January 2017. My Sight Newark meets every other Tuesday at Knight’s Court Community Centre in Newark and provides blind and vision impaired people with the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation for mutual support and to enjoy quizzes, games, pub lunches, talks on a wide range of topics and outings to local places of interest. We also use the social group to deliver some of our other services to people living in the town, such as IT & technology support, equipment advice and arts workshops. The group aims to reduce the social isolation that all too many vision impaired people experience.
